Sweet Summer Softball

I really just love out church softball team!

These guys are so neat to watch out on the field each Friday night.

Coach Harry Polly has been and inspiration to all of us and this year just seeems to be special.

Here is the team that has won 3 straight.

After a victory over The Hieghts Church, both teams gather to give thanks in prayer for a great time of fellowship and fun together.

Being sponsored to ride your bike

There are millions of causes to give to here in the USA. And people have a lot of charities to pick from.

That is one of the greatest things about the United States of America. People love to give to something that is worthy and a good cause.

The Bike + Farm = Food fund raiser has obiviously been deemed a worthy and good cause based on the response from people who are sponsoring Thomas and I to ride our mountain bikes in this weekends Whiskey Off Road Mountain Bike Endurance Race.

I think for me one of the most exciting things about this event besides riding with 700  other mountain bikers as well as  the challenge, is something that happened to me this past Sunday.

A young man by the name of Anden came up to me and said he wanted to sponsor me a $1.00 per mile . I was stunned  but was quick to take  him up on it.

With this young mans backing, I will certainly have more motivation to keep peddling and keep climbing the entire 50 miles.

Here are a couple of pictures of one of my favorite supporters.

Thank you Mr. Anden Scheffert for the amazing donation to help us with Church Farm this weekend. Because of you, the Church Farm gets a pump for the well.

My theme for the Whiskey this weekend is the following scripture.

“The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.” Isaiah 58:11

OUR CHURCH FAMILY GRIEVES TODAY

Last night I received a cell phone call that no pastor wants to get.

Nick White had been in a motorcycle accident in Phoenix and it didn’t look good.

About an hour later a second call came to the house telling Brenda and I that Nick had died on the way to the hospital.

Our church family is strong but the wave of this news saddens all who knew our friend Nick.

Brenda and I had such a heart for Nick and anyone who knew him could not help but love him.

We loved his contagious laugh, his bright smiling face, his constant desire to help where help was needed. No matter what needed to be done, Nick had the “we can handle it Pastor” approach to life.

I loved hearing Nicks Motorcycle come into the church parking lot on Sunday’s. He sparked something in me that helps a pastor want to be better pastor.

I will miss you friend. We will all miss you.
