Here was my company this afternoon on my mountain bike ride.
This afternoon I took a short but strong ride throug the forest to the south of where we live.
About 2/3rds of the way through the 1 1/2 hour mountain bike ride I could see about a dozen Javalinas right in the middle of the single track about 50 yards in front of me.
I have a bike bell on my handle bars for such occasions. As I began to ring the bell I could see the creatures scatter to the left and to the right..
These guys were not going to get aggressive and I road right through them.
Kind of cool to see the babies running right behind thier moms …Man, those guys can really move too!
Javelina are everywhere in these parts. For instance, I live about 3/4 of a mile from the Square & I am on a regular javelina route. They like my pansies; I long ago gave up on tulips and grape hyacinths. However, you’ve done better than I at photographing the critters!
That’s quite a ‘herd’ – they can be very protective of their ‘babies”so be cautious.
Nice creatures, nice pictures!
Wish we had them in our forests in Denmark.
