How God Heals the Hurts We Don’t Deserve
Matthew 6:9-14 “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ 14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
1. DISPEL THE STINKIN’ THINKIN’ THAT GETS US STUCK IN THE PAST.

3. INVITE GOD INTO YOUR PAINFUL MEMORIES.

Lived by the ones in PGH. 🙂 I remember hearing people scream when they were on it (I never did) and the stories of it, they were the “war stories”…and we all have them. It is just a matter of what we do once we go through them, do we grow from them, forgive and move on? Or do we stay stuck in them and dwell on them? It’s our choice. We can make the decision to change our perspective and see the “good” in the coasters of life.
I have been living and getting by since 2008 thinking I was over what had happened against me at a church I was interning at in Tucson. But still I have moments when I hear that persons name, or when somehow an old friend contacts me and says “hey have you heard what pastor so and so said about you now??” Or when another hurt member or leader contacts me and wants to talk to me about it. I find myself still getting angry, hurting for others, for myself. Actually wishing for even a half hearted apology. I guess I still have more work to do, to let go and move on 🙂

To get over a deep hurt take much effort.
All I can say is that without God’s help and the Holy Spirit’s power it is too difficult to attempt.
The only way to move ahead for your future is to step past your past.
