I am not yet discovered

It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’” 16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. John 1:14-16 (nkjv)
I love that. “Full of grace and truth.” Not the balance between, but the full embodiment of. Jesus did not come to strike a balance between grace and truth. He brought the full measure of both. John had seen this firsthand. He had watched Jesus apply the full measure of grace and truth to each individual they encountered.
“full of grace and truth.”

Door number one? – Church of TRUTH.
Door number two? – Church of GRACE
Door number three? – Church of GRACE and TRUTH

Jesus said to a woman caught in adultery, “I don’t condemn you, now leave your life of sin.” Translated: “You’re a sinner. What you did is a sin. It was wrong. But I don’t condemn you. I’m not going to give you what you deserve. I’m extending to you exactly what you don’t deserve: grace.” Jesus didn’t try to balance grace and truth. He didn’t water down the law. He didn’t put a condition on grace. He gave her a full dose of both.

1. Just as I am, without one plea, But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bid’st me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

2. Just as I am, and waiting not To rid my soul of one dark blot;
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

3. Just as I am, though tossed about With many a conflict, many a doubt;
Fightings within, and fears without, O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

4. Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind; Sight, riches, healing of the mind;
Yes, all I need, in Thee to find, O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

5. Just as I am, Thou wilt receive, Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

6. Just as I am, Thy love unknown Has broken every barrier down;

A trucker hat or mesh cap is a type of baseball cap. It is also sometimes known as a “gimme [as in ‘give me’] cap” or a “feed cap” because this style of hat originated as a promotional give-away from feed or farming supply companies to farmers, truck drivers, or other rural workers.

David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. When his brothers and his father’s household heard about it, they went down to him there. 2 All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their commander. About four hundred men were with him. – 1 Samuel 22:1-5

I. The Cave of Protection – 22:1-2 – “escaped to the cave of Adullam”.
God not only will place you in a place to PROTECT YOU ….But he will place you in a place to PROTECT WHAT HE IS GOING TO DO THROUGH YOU.

God’s dream for you is so much bigger than your dream for you. – He places you in that cave to protect HIS VISION FOR YOU. – IF YOU GO DOWN THE VISION GOES DOWN!

2 The cave of Preparation – When you are down to nothing – God is up to something!

David’s family joined David at the cave for two reasons:

(1)Support
What an encouragement to have his family (COMMUNITY) with him and behind him. At the beginning the brothers were jealous of him. He had been anointed as king instead of them. But those hard feelings have vanished and they seek David out in the cave.

(2)Safety
Saul not only wanted to kill David, he wanted to kill David’s family as well.
-Add to that the fact that his brothers had been in Saul’s army. They had to desert Saul’s army to join David and desertion meant death.

David’s TRIBE OF THE TROUBLED – CHANGE THE ENTIRE GAME

DEBT – what can happed with a tribe of the troubled – they change the
DISCONTENTED – way things are out of dire necessity !
