DAY PARTS

I just wanted to post a few pictures Im calling “Day Parts”.

PART 1

Started out the way I love to – Devotion , Sunday preparation and strong coffee.

bible coffee

PART 2

Then I went to work on getting these two canoes back to Missouri for my friend Mile Ketcherside.

We had to fix the Yakima racks on Annie’s Ford Explorer before they can be shipped. She hit a tree and did some damage to the whole system. Bigger project than I projected.

PART 3

Hung out at Chruch Farm. It is really cool to see lots of people come by to help Thomas during the day.

All kinds of stuff growing – can’t wait for the harvet give away at “The Table”.

I met a young man from Virignia that is filming a documentary on “Building Communities” today. He is filming three cities and stopped by Church Farm to take a hands on approach to some of the work Thomas and crew are doing.

I love using a canoe to very last drop. This one is helping us grow Kale and salad greens.

Finishing off the day by just hanging with the best bride on the planet! – She makes killer tacos.

What can I do?

A few days ago I read a great qoute on Matthew Barnett’s face book  that said; “The major cause of homelessness in America is a breakdown of the family.”  Wow, that really starting a fire in me.

I feel like I need to help the change one person at a time and one day at a time.

What can I do? … Start with what I have and where I am.

I will let this fire continue to burn until I know I am on the right path.

Here are some links to inspire.

Thankful for a great family.

EMPTY NEST

empty_nest

2008 has brought many changes for Brenda and I.

I realized another one on this Monday morning just before leaving for the office.

It is a term I had heard of but not really experienced.

The term “EMPTY NEST” is a reality for us.

Here is a short list of things I have observed when it comes to the nest being empty.

“Top Ten Best Things About an Empty Nest”.

They are:

A weeks worth of garbage fits in a cute little bag.

Finding a parking spot in the driveway is easier.

Backing out of your driveway no longer requires a stunt driver.

Cereal boxes in the pantry contain cereal.

A gallon of milk lasts a week instead of a day.

Restaurant take-home-boxes are still in the fridge the next day.

If you fall asleep watching TV, the same channel is still on when you wake up

The cordless phone is in its cradle and charged.

The TV remote control is where you left it.

Clothing is once again optional inside the house.

Brenda and I were discussing the years of raising two awesome kids last night and how it is really does take a lot of effort to do it right.

We are really blessed and proud to have two amazing adult children that are welcome and encouraged to hang with us anytime they want.

But please give me a heads up some I can hide the remote.

Everyday Bren and I pray Philippians 1:3 over our kidos.

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you .”
