Seven Good Cows

I am really looking forward to this Sunday morning @ Prescott First Assembly.

Tomorrow is all about forecasting the seasons you are in.

There are reasons for seasons –  We need to be in tune with what season we are coming out of and what season we are going into.

It’s not enough to know what to do; you also need to know “when to do a thing” and “how to get it done.” If you get any one of these three steps wrong (the what, the when, and the how) you stand the risk of interfering with God’s perfect plan for your life and living out of balance with the timings and the seasons of the Spirit.

A wise man will not move with undue haste to complete a matter. First, he will seek to understand the right season and the proper timing that ensures the most favorable results.

This message “Seven Good Cows” is all about discerning the season that you are about to go into.

See you Sunday @ 10:00 am.

LOCATION UPDATE NEWS:

We are still meeting at the old location @ 1455 Willow Creek Road on Sunday mornings until we find our new temporary location.

In the meantime, Mountain Oak Charter School is still renovating the campus for their school year that starts up in a few days.

THE CHURCH AT 7,200 FEET

Tomorrow is Sunday and I will have two services @ two locations for anyone who wants to attend either.

The first service is rather conventional, traditional and has seats –  it starts @ 10:00 am and is held @ 1455 Willow Creek road here in Prescott Az.

The Second site is @ 7,200 feet at the top of Granite basin and will not be typical, traditional or conventional….It has no seats but a really good view.

Here is a pic of our location of our Sunday afternoon worship service. (no fried chicken allowed).

Pretty nice temple  right?

Desire – We are going to meditate on the word  “Selah”  when we reach the top of the peak.

Destination –  The scenic, tranquil, Prescott National Forest. –  We will unplug from the fast-paced life in an effort to slow down, relax, connect with each other and listen for the voice of God.

The “service” won’t be lengthy and we won’t even take an offering…..but we will reflect on some amazingness of God’s handiwork and artwork.

Details – We leave Granite Basin/Iron Springs parking lot at 3:00 and  commute to the trail head area to save on parking fees.

The eight mile hike round trip will require you to be self contained with plenty of water and snacks. (remember it will be hot in the afternoon.)

The hike is approx two hours up and two hours back.

Here is a link to help you with info. regarding the climb and decent.

Plan on arriving back to your vehicles around 8:00ish.

The hike was pretty much two hours up and two hours down….good work out for the Yosemite trip coming up next week.

The back side of granite Basin looking toward willimson valley/Sedona/ Flagstaff…One of my favorite sections of this amazing trail.

The entire afternoon I saw four other humans.

Summed up I say: Scenic time for solitude and Selah.

EVERY DAD’S DREAM

Really looking forward to this teaching this weekend called Every Dad’s Dream.

Father’s day is everyday not just a day we give dad a new pair of socks or a new item for his man cave.

Every dad has a dream and Sunday morning we gonna look@ at how to have some of those dreams become tangible, real and alive.

See ya Sunday.

THIS CHURCH GETS IT.

St. Louis – June 2011

– Cards win over the Cubs with a 12th inning home run by Albert Pujols – I watched the game while enjoying my favorite pizza from Stephanina’s in Wentzville

– Flew over the Missouri river is @ flood stage.

– Witness lambert International Airport after the tornado rips through St. Louis.

– The day after we leave a 4.5 earthquake shakes the community.

– We connected with some life long friends.

– We  also got to experience some pretty amazing humidity

Here are just a few pics some pics of our visit with Jesse and Missy Quiroz for their church second birthday celebration.

We spoke @ their two services and participated in a afternoon water baptismal service.

Pastor Jesse and Missy are doing an AMAZING work in Lincoln County Missouri.

What a honor to celebrate with these friends.

Every time I get to attend one of Jesse’s services it is an absolute blast.

The church is running around 400 in just two years.

One of the highlights of the weekend is seeing the people follow through  – This church gets it….

They believe

They belong

They get baptized.

It is hard to but into words what you experience @ Journey…. all I can say is there is something very good is going on there.

Thank you Pastor jesse and Missy and thank you Journey Church for allowing Brenda and I to be a part of your church family.

QUANTUM FAITH part 3

If I were at the  funeral of a close relative or friend  and the deceased raised up from the casket I think my life would change in a dramatic way.

“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:18 25,26 (niv)

Jesus said that just before he raised Mary’s brother up from the grave – Wow that  funeral changed that families outlook and perspective in a variety of ways!

This series gets me going, gets me believing and charges my spiritual inner batteries toward a brand new future and a new start.

Really looking forward to this message this Sunday that brings hope to those who have lost it

And life to that which seems to be dead.

I love that FACT that God raises dead things back to life.

QUANTUMNESS PART 2

We see some amazing events after Jesus resurrection from the grave.

He walks through walls, He defies death and the grave and one of the coolest events I would like to experience was what is called the ascension  – Jesus did some amazing things that the laws of nature could not stop.

In this series we are looking at some of the things that hold us back, knock us down and push us to the breaking point.

But with God’s help and some “quantum faith” we will see the super natural take us beyond the natural –

If we stay within “reason”, we get stuck spiritually – yes, yes we do.

Last weekend we looked @ how Jesus gets us beyond gravity and the things that pull us down. This weekend we are going where we have never gone before into the unknown by stepping through barriers and walls that keep us out of the new horizons God has planned for us.

Also, I have a QUANTUM ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE THIS SUNDAY – Lets just say,  A GIANT MOUNTIAN JUST GOT MOVED OUT OF THE WAY FOR PFA! (yes, I am shouting here).

Lovin it

EASTER 2011

Jesus claimed to be God. ..Wow, those are some BIG shoes to fill.

What is it like to walk in Jesus shoes? (The God-man shoes)

This Sunday we share an  Easter message about God’s irrational, inexplicable love for misfits, how the most irresistible Message in the world can be eclipsed and His unending, unfathomable kindness in our repeated failures.

Cannot wait to celebrate this Easter this Sunday.

PALM SUNDAY

One of my most favorite times of the year is Palm Sunday.

I love the feeling of celebration and anticipation of some thing new just around the corner.

I love the sense in my spirit of new life and new beginnings.

I love the way families get together and come to worship in a church with other believers.

I love the history and tradition of a day of worship that speaks so powerfully of a loving, involved Heavenly Father in our everyday lives.

I love the way Palm Sunday helps me realize I am living in the here and now but someday I will experience the then and there ….Yes, the drumbeat of eternity become more real, more amplified more visual to me on Palm Sunday.

I love the way Palm Sunday sets me up in preparation for that epic day half the world celebrates – Yes, Easter means eternal life is possible, reachable and the gates of new life are actually mine to enjoy.

I love Palm Sunday – get up get out to a worship center somewhere and love it for yourself tomorrow.
