This year our family got to be up close and personal with the fireworks here in Preskitt. One of the guys in our church put on the show for our city.
Here are just a few pics of the 4th a July.

Now I am hooked!
The Petroglyphs here in Arizona are amazing.
Here are a few pics of my latest find near Wet Beaver Creek here in Northren Az.

This rock art is mostly clanish langauge and some spiritual language expressing the thoughts of the Shama who was the “priest” of the Sinagua peoples.

Some claim this site is a Sinaguan Sun Dial…I was able to witness the 1:00 PM shadow.

I picked up a book by Liz and Peter Welsh on “Rock Art Of The Southwest.
Next stop, The PALATKI RED CLIFS.
Check into this blog in a week or so for “ROCKS THAT TALK” – part 3.
A year ago this weekend I broke my right ankle on what was a great mountain bike ride.
Today, Robert Middlemore and I decided to ride that same section of trail this morning.

Robert was the hero that day when he drove me out of the woods in the four wheel drive.

This is the spot where I ran into another buddy’s back tire and freakeshly broke the ankle.

Kind of a personal victory for me to re ride this section one year from the accident.

A petroglyph is a rock engraving made by pecking the surface with a harder stone. Some
are abraded or rubbed, some are scratched or incised into the rock and some have
cross hatched textures that are chiseled across the surface.
The Sinagua were a pre-Columbian cultural group occupying an area in central Arizona between the Little Colorado River and the Salt River (between Flagstaff and Phoenix) including the Verde Valley and significant portions of the Mogollon Rim country between approximately 500 AD and 1425 AD. Some archaeologists have referred to the Sinagua as the Western Anasazi.

If you have the interpretation please give me a call.

This is one of the most amazing places on the planet. – Why not get married there.
Good choice Kyle and Kristin!

A HUGE THANKS to Carrie and Adam Arnold and their team of workers for a great VBS this year – you guys absolutely rock!
This Thursday and Saturday was the first days of giving the harvest away through Church Farm and the many other gardens in the city of Prescott.
This initial give away was small but many stopped by to see the event anf receive food for their table.
Thomas Arnold has worked very hard with his team of farmers to get this going.
I cannot wait to see what happens when the fall harvest is in.

There is something really rewarding about seeing food giving away that you watched grow.
Great job guys.

Stopped by to visit Montezuma’s Well just 45 minutes from our home and just had to post some pics of the nieghborhood that has been around for a while.
Archeologists suspect that the first permanent settlers in the valley were the Hohokam, a Pima word for “all used up.” These resourceful farmers arrived in the area around 600 AD and lived in one-room houses made of poles, sticks and mud.

a 1,000 year old irrigation ditch that is still in use by local residents today!

Brenda and I are loving this season we are in right now.
Both of our children are in the process of buying their first home.
Wow – I love this.

Brenda and Natascha looking at a possibility.

Caleb and Beth are considering this home in Flagstaff.
So cool to watch the process.
Today is the start of a brand new church that is very close my heart.

Jesse and Missy Quiroz begin their journey with a brand new church family that I beleive will impact a region beyond what we can imagine.
Watch it grow over the years and see what I mean.
